"Quattro-luvr, Powered by Datsun & Stinger" (drbajones)

I've made some progress on my ole 78' 280z.
I've gotten the original AM/FM radio installed. Thanks to Slave2anMG for sending me his radio! I got an aerial switch off eBay. Everything now works! Aerial goes up and down! I also got the clock working and the map light fixed. Had to put in a new shift boot and a new shift fork boot.
My interior is now back to factory original shape.
I also stripped out the aftermarket cruise control that didn't work.

aftermarket cruise control
I had never considered that that would be a thing.

It totally is. Rather common for older cars like this too.

Yep. As you know, Cruise Control was an (expensive) option on cars in the 60s 70s and into the 80's. Hell, you can still buy a brand new car without it (looking at you, Mazda 2).
Hence the need for aftermarket units.

Why? It has its uses.

I feel like I'm not longer in control of the car.

I used to feel that way, I'd only use it on really long drives. Now I use it all the time.
You have plenty of control. Speed up and down with buttons on the wheel/stalk, you can still accelerate with the gas, brake or clutch shuts it off. You can also turn it on and off with a button.

My human brain understands this. My animal brain screams, "OH GOD THE CAR IS OUT OF CONTROL!!!" every time it accelerates.
